National Eye Donation Fortnight, an annual awareness campaign observed from August 25 to September 8, was marked by a special event at the Vels Medical College & Hospital on September 6th.

The program aimed to raise awareness about the importance of eye donation. Medical students, along with nursing and allied health students, actively participated by forming an eye-shaped image, symbolizing their support for the cause.

The event was graced by the presence of the institution’s Vice-President, Dr. Preetha Ganesh, and the Dean of the Medical College, Dr. Kumudha Lingaraj.Also in attendance were the Medical Superintendent,

Principle of Nursing and allied science, the Head of the Community Medicine Department, and senior faculty from the Ophthalmology Department.

The program highlighted the critical role of eye donation in restoring vision to those in need, and the efforts of the medical community in promoting this cause were appreciated.
