Department of Physiology and Medical Education Unit, VMCH conducted a CME – CORONARY CROSSROADS – Basics to Bedside on 30.08.2024 at Lecture Hall- 3 from 10.30 AM to 12.45 PM.
CME was organized by Vice-Principal and Professor and Head of Department of Physiology, Dr.Prince J Samuel - Organizing chairman with support from rest of the organizing committee Dr.Lalitha Shanmugam – Organizing secretary, Dr.B.Varadharaju, Dr.Malathi, Dr.Samuel Sundar Doss & Ms.Surekha – Organizing Committee.
Program started with free registration. Dr.Prince J Samuel, Head of the Department, Department of Physiology welcomed our Respected Medical Superintendent Dr.Sheela Rani, Assistant Medical Superintendent Dr.Sathish Dev, the speakers- Dr.S.J.Ajeet Arulkumar from Apollo Hospitals, Dr.Lalitha Shanmugam & Dr.B.Varadharaju from VMCH and the participants of our CME. The dignitaries on the dias were felicitated.
Dr.B.Varadharaju, Professor of Physiology, VMCH spoke on the topic titled, ‘The Crown: Terminal Circulation’. Dr.Lalitha Shanmugam, Professor of Physiology & MEU Coordinator, VMCH spoke on the topic titled, ‘Role of inflammatory markers in CVD risk prediction’.
Our guest speaker, Dr.S.J.Ajeet Arulkumar, Senior interventional Cardiologist & Heart failure Specialist, Apollo Hospitals, Chennai delivered an exceptional talk on the topic titled, ‘Coronary artery disease: The busy crossroad of Physiology and Pathology’.
At the end of discussion after the sessions, all the speakers were awarded certificates of appreciation. CME concluded with vote of thanks by Dr.Samuel Sundar Doss.
Dr.Alber.M.Mathiarasu was appointed as our CME observer by TamilNadu Medical Council (TNMC). TNMC awarded 0.5 credit hours to our CME. Totally 77 doctors and 249 students attended the CME.
