VELS Medical College and Hospital initiated a hypertension awareness program focused on measuring blood pressure (BP) in the surrounding villages of Manjankaranai Village. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about hypertension, encourage regular BP monitoring, and provide educational resources to the local population about managing and preventing high blood pressure.

The primary objectives of this program were to identify individuals with high BP and provide guidance on managing their condition.

The program was conducted over a period of two weeks, from May 17 to June 15, 2024. Key activities included:

  • • Blood Pressure Measurement Camps
  • • Educational Sessions
  • • Distribution of Pamphlets

Over 2,100 individuals participated in the BP measurement camps across the selected villages. Approximately 160 individuals were identified with elevated BP readings and were advised to seek further medical consultation.
